Job summary
A leading body shop in Sutton Coldfield is seeking a talented MET Technician to repair damaged vehicles using the latest equipment and techniques. The role involves following correct repair techniques, conducting inspections, and maintaining quality standards in a busy environment. Candidates should have a recognized apprenticeship and prior body shop experience. This full-time position offers a salary of up to £50,000 plus bonus, with a 42.5-hour work week and adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Technical qualification (NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ) is essential.
- Previous experience in a busy bodyshop environment is required.
- Up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques is mandatory.
Responsibilities

Our client is looking for a talented and efficient MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician to join a leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications in a state-of-the‑art body shop, using the latest equipment and techniques.
- Work efficiently in a fast‑paced accident repair centre
- Follow the correct repair techniques and produce work in line with factory specifications and customer satisfaction
- Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues in the vehicle's systems
- Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed
- Adhere to all safety protocols and standards
- Recognised apprenticeship as a MET Technician/ MET Strip Fitter / Car Fitter / Strip & Fit Technician
- Technical qualification (NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ)
- Previous experience in a busy bodyshop environment
- Experience with Geometry work and 4‑wheel alignment
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
- Diagnostic training
- Self‑motivated and a strong team player
