Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Data Scientist for a fully onsite role in Desford, England. In this 12-month contract position, you will be responsible for creating insightful dashboards, analyzing data, and enhancing data collection methods. Ideal candidates should have a degree in a relevant field, experience with Python & SQL, and proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI. This role offers a chance to join a major company in off-highway machinery, making a significant impact on the Purchasing department.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization
- Experience in coding and development using Python or SQL
- High proficiency in PowerApps, SharePoint, and the Microsoft Office Suite

Join our client - one of the largest off-highway machinery companies in the world, as a Data Scientist, where your expertise will play a key role in researching, developing, and delivering cutting‑edge analytical and reporting solutions for a broad range of applications within the Purchasing department. You'll work alongside a fantastic team where you can make a real impact!
- Provide and maintain visually insightful live dashboards and reports; create and maintain dashboards and data presentations
- Create, clean, and analyse datasets using safe, reliable data capture methods where needed, using tools such as PowerApps
- Extract information from internal systems using SQL or EDFL to push data into Power BI
- Create and format data structures within safe databases and/or internal systems like Snowflake or SharePoint
- Continuously enhance data collection, storage, and analysis methods
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience in coding and development using programming languages such as Python or SQL
- Strong ability to extract, interpret and understand data
- High proficiency in PowerApps, SharePoint and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional problem‑solving abilities with excellent attention to detail
