Job description
About the role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join the CAMHS team at The Lighthouse, the UK’s first Child House and a national leader in supporting children and young people affected by sexual abuse. This is a rare opportunity to work within a pioneering multi‑professional service that brings together health, social care, advocacy, policing and therapeutic support under one roof.

You will play a key role in supporting our clinical and outcomes work, contributing to service evaluations, audits and research that shape national best practice. The role is predominantly to support outcome and service evaluation work, therefore strong research and statistical skills and interests are encouraged.

We are committed to offering a rich learning environment with regular supervision, reflective practice and opportunities for CPD, as well as links with UCLH Psychological Medicine and local CAMHS teams. The Lighthouse is also part of the international PROMISE network, providing unique opportunities for national and international engagement.

We actively encourage applications from candidates from diverse backgrounds, as we are committed to building a team that reflects the children and families we serve.

If you are enthusiastic, organised and passionate about trauma‑informed care for children and young people, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and clinical support to the CAMHS team, helping to drive the service’s outcomes strategy, audits and evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain systems to collect, analyse and report key performance and clinical outcome data, ensuring accurate and meaningful reporting.
  • Support service evaluation projects, including database management, data analysis, report writing and presenting findings for the team.
  • Help prepare clinical materials, outcome tools, documentation and service resources for use across the team.
  • Support the delivery and evaluation of therapeutic groups, participation events and wider CAMHS activities.
  • Contribute to research tasks, including literature searches, evidence reviews and preparation of materials that inform evidence‑based practice.
  • Provide administrative support to meetings, training sessions and service development projects, ensuring smooth coordination across the team.
  • Participate in reflective practice, supervision and CPD activities to maintain high professional standards and support your development.
  • Uphold excellent clinical record keeping and assist with data governance in line with Trust, HCPC and BPS standards.
  • Under the supervision of qualified clinicians, support participation projects, multidisciplinary assessments, assist with therapeutic interventions and help develop the clinical resources used across the service.

For the full Person Specification and more information regarding the main responsibilities of this role, please refer to the attached Job Description.

Due to anticipated high volumes of applications, this vacancy may close earlier than the listed closing date. You are advised not to delay submitting your completed application. This advert closes on Sunday 21 Dec 2025.
