Job description
Job Description

Victim/Restorative Justice Officer | 8272 | permanent contract | 37 hours per week | £30,559 to £32,654 per annum | Grade G | Countywide

Norfolk Youth Justice Service (NJYS) is a multi-agency team working with children in contact with the criminal justice system. NYJS works to reduce re-offending, helping children to achieve the best possible outcomes for their future.

An integral part of our work is to support victims of their crimes within Restorative Justice principles.

We are seeking two skilled practitioners with restorative justice/approaches experience to develop our current service to victims.

To apply, please download an application form and attach it to your online application instead of your CV.

In this role, you will work closely with a variety of professionals to provide a service that meets victims’ needs, is restorative in nature and assists children to move forward positively. You will also provide training in restorative justice to practitioners and volunteers.

You will have a qualification and/or significant experience in either a criminal justice, social care or victim/restorative justice arena. You will need excellent communication skills, a knowledge of and sensitivity to the impact of crime on victims and the community and a strong commitment to the principles of Restorative Justice.

This post will involve some evening and weekend working. Your office base will be in Norwich and countywide travel may be required.

To apply, please download an application form and attach it to your online application instead of your CV. Please ensure you complete a full application form (a CV will not be accepted) which explains how you meet all essential criteria specified in the job description, including whether you have a valid driving licence for use in the UK.

For an informal discussion about the role please ring Elayne Stewart-Dixon (Operations Manager) on 07785715746

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.
