Futures are looking to appoint a Fabrication Shop Supervisor for our client based on the outskirts of Wakefield who are known for delivering high-quality, precision-engineered products. The successful Fabrication Shop Supervisor will join a well established team. This is an ideal role for someone with strong leadership abilities, a passion for continuous improvement, and solid technical knowledge, particularly in SolidWorks and modern fabrication practices.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Supervise day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop to ensure production schedules are met.
• Lead and motivate a team of skilled tradespeople in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and other proven methodologies.
• Interpret engineering drawings and support the design process using SolidWorks.
• Coordinate with engineering, quality, and logistics teams to ensure seamless production flow.
• Monitor safety, quality, and productivity metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a fabrication or manufacturing leadership role.
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks (design interpretation and drawing revision).
• Hands-on knowledge of continuous improvement strategies (e.g., Lean, 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
• Excellent communication and team management skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues and implement timely solutions.
• Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset.
