Job summary
A leading engineering firm located in the United Kingdom seeks a Technical Estimator / Design Engineer to design and cost off grid power solutions. The role involves all stages of the project from conception to production, requiring strong engineering knowledge and communication skills. Applicants will partner with clients throughout the design process. A competitive salary based on experience plus quarterly bonus will be provided.
Qualifications
- Strong relevant knowledge in renewable energy systems.
- Experience in engineering and client engagement.
- Practical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Design and cost off grid power solutions.
- Review customer specifications and answer technical questions.
- Liaise with clients throughout the design process.
Skills
Our engineering OEM and factoring/distribution client has been at the forefront of manufacturing niche electronic products/technology, including in the renewables sector, for several decades. They are the acknowledged market leader's in the design and manufacture of products in their specialist field, having gained an enviable reputation for both quality and after-sales service.
They now require a Technical Estimator / Design Engineer to design and cost off grid power solutions. Involved with all aspects of the project from conception, design, quoting and finally through to production. This is a very hands on role covering system design & building and liaising with Clients throughout the process. Minutia of the role includes;
- Answering technical questions
- Reviewing customer specification
- Designing renewable energy systems to ensure their power requirements are met.
- Providing system designs and costings to clients.
The right Technical Estimator / Design Engineer will possess;
- Strong relevant knowledge
- Engineering experience
- Client facing experience
- Some electrical knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- A practical approach
- CAD skills would be advantageous, but are not essential
Salary - Dependent on experience + Quarterly Bonus
