A global brokerage in London is seeking an experienced Facultative Property Broker to focus on short-tail facultative lines in Property, Energy, and Terrorism. The role involves placing risks, developing relationships within the market, sourcing new business, and negotiating terms. Candidates should have strong experience in facultative reinsurance broking and excellent communication skills. Fluency in another European language is advantageous.

My client, a very successful global brokerage are seeking an experienced Facultative Property Broker to join our growing team in London. This role will focus on short-tail facultative lines across Property, Energy, and Terrorism, with a strong emphasis on European business. The successful candidate will play a key role in placing risks and driving new business production, leveraging established market relationships and developing new opportunities.
Place facultative short-tail business across Property, Energy, and Terrorism lines, with a focus on European clients.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers, reinsurers, and clients in the London and international markets.
Proactively source and produce new business opportunities, contributing to the growth of the portfolio.
Negotiate terms, coverage, and pricing with underwriters to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
Prepare and present market submissions, placing slips, and supporting documentation.
Collaborate closely with colleagues across broking and technical teams to ensure seamless client service.
Stay up to date with market trends, regulatory requirements, and product developments within the specialty lines.
Proven experience in facultative reinsurance broking, ideally within Property, Energy, or Terrorism / Political Violence classes.
Strong understanding of short-tail FAC placements, particularly within European markets.
A track record of business development and production, with established insurer/reinsurer contacts.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, international broking environment.
Fluency in an additional European language is a strong advantage.
