Job summary

A charitable organization in Northern Ireland is seeking Youth Housing Workers (Bank) to provide shift cover for young people in transition to independent living. The ideal candidates will have experience in a caring role and the ability to work flexible shifts. This position contributes significantly to the support and safeguarding of young people.

Qualifications

  • 3 months’ paid work experience or 6 months voluntary work experience supporting people in a caring role.
  • Ability to work across sleeping and waking shifts as part of a casual bank role.

Overview

NOW RECRUITING: YOUTH HOUSING WORKERS (BANK)

(Casual Support Staff in MACS Housing Services for Young People)

Belfast, Downpatrick, Lisburn and Newry Supported Housing Services provide housing for young people who are homeless or leaving care to make the transition to independent living and their own tenancy.

Youth Housing Workers (Bank) provide shift cover, as an accessible point of contact on night shifts and weekends. With a range of sleeping and waking shifts available, supported housing staff promote the protection and safeguarding of young people living at MACS.

Responsibilities
  • Provide shift cover on night shifts and weekends.
  • Act as an accessible point of contact for residents during shifts.
  • Support young people living in MACS housing services as they transition to independent living and tenancy.
  • Promote safeguarding and protection of young people in supported housing settings.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions as required.
