Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated support in the mornings, focusing on assisting a Year 5 student with behavioural aspects SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including ADHD diagnosis and potential self-harming behaviour.
  • Offer crucial assistance in the afternoons, aiding Year 5 students and remaining flexible to work across Key Stages 1 and 2.
  • Implement strategies and interventions to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to promote the student's social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCO to ensure individualized support plans are implemented successfully.
  • Monitor and record the student's progress, adapting support strategies as necessary.

Requirements

Proven experience working with children with behavioural needs in an educational setting.

Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and SEN support strategies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.

Flexibility, resilience, and a proactive attitude towards overcoming challenges.

Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support.
