Year 1 Class Teacher Sheffield (S4, S5, S6, S35)
Locations: Primary schools across Sheffield S4, S5, S6, S35
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Contract: Full-time, long-term (potential for permanent role)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a caring, creative, and dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to work across a selection of welcoming primary schools in the North and East Sheffield area. This position is ideal for an experienced KS1 practitioner or a confident ECT who has a passion for early learning and child‑centred teaching.

The Role

As a Year 1 Class Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
  • Create a warm, nurturing classroom environment that supports early learning
  • Develop pupils phonics, early literacy, and numeracy skills
  • Use assessment to track progress and inform planning
  • Work effectively with teaching assistants, SEN support, and parents
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community
What We re Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, particularly Year 1 expectations
  • Experience delivering high-quality phonics teaching (Little Wandle, Read Write Inc, or similar is desirable)
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style
