Job summary

A leading automotive service provider in Wokingham is looking for a Workshop Controller to oversee service technicians and ensure high customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include performance management, keeping time records, and complying with Health & Safety regulations. The ideal candidate should have experience as a Workshop Controller, possess NVQ Level 3 in PSV maintenance, and have a full UK driving license. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £28.25.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Workshop Controller, Workshop Foreman, HGV Technician, or Workshop Supervisor is preferred.
  • Time served Technician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV maintenance.
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and manage a workshop.
  • Well-developed management and leadership skills.
  • A working knowledge of automotive technology and warranty systems would be beneficial.
  • Ability to exceed targets and deadlines is a must.
  • A full, valid, and clean UK driving license.

WORKSHOP CONTROLLER - PSV

Hourly rate: £28.25

Working Hours: 4 on 4 off 5am - 4pm

Location: Wokingham

Responsibilities of a Workshop Controller
  • Supervising and motivating our team of Service Technicians and proactively reviewing daily workload to seek opportunities that will help drive performance.
  • Maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction by implementing quality checks, resolving any issues, and re-assuring customers by providing all necessary information and advice.
  • Supervises the daily time keeping of technicians and manages authorised absence to ensure a consistent level of attendance.
  • Maintaining relationships with vehicle manufacturer and providing technical information for Technicians during repair operations.
  • Complying with Health & Safety regulations and ensuring high standards of housekeeping and security are achieved and maintained within the workshop and surrounding areas.
Skills and Qualifications of a Workshop Controller
  • Prior experience as a Workshop Controller / Workshop Foreman / HGV Technician / Workshop Supervisor is preferred.
