Overview

Workshop Mechanic — Plant Hire. Location: Avonmouth, Bristol. Salary: £38,000 - £45,000. Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (Day shift, Monday-Friday, 45-hour working week). Join an impressive company within their Plant Maintenance team as a Workshop Fitter, where you will be instrumental in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of high-end company vehicle machinery. This role offers the opportunity to work on a fleet of Telescopic Handlers and a variety of other machinery, ensuring their ongoing usage by clients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform repair maintenance on Telescopic Handlers and a variety of other company machinery.
  • Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and LOLER safety checks on vehicle machinery.
  • Use equipment and tools for maintenance review and quality checks.
  • Repair diesel engines and perform scheduled servicing, general repairs, and damage assessments.
  • Ensure mechanical inspection, safety checks, and quality checks at final review to maintain company quality standards.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Experience working on plant machinery and an understanding of engine repair.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities in a similar environment.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • CSCS card is advantageous but not essential.
