Annual salary: up to £14,040.00

Cleaning Supervisor

Salary: £14,040 per year (pro rata)

Location: University of Cambridge
Contract: Permanent, part-time
Hours: 20 per week, Monday to Friday

Our work follows British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) standards and all relevant legislation, supported by our in-house BICSc trainers. We create safe, welcoming spaces all year round while helping clients achieve their sustainability goals.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations within our Cambridge branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of cleaners, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained across all areas, and reporting directly to management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cleaning staff
  • Ensure all areas are cleaned to high standards, including offices, staircases, landings, classrooms, and toilets
  • Oversee tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying bins, cleaning sinks, replenishing supplies, and operating cleaning machinery where required
  • Train, support, and motivate staff to deliver consistent quality
  • Carry out regular inspections to maintain hygiene and safety standards
  • Monitor and manage stock levels of cleaning materials
  • Report maintenance issues or hazards promptly
  • Consistently deliver excellent customer service
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures
Role Criteria
  • Experience in the above duties
  • Good knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and COSHH regulations
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Previous experience in cleaning or facilities management
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • IT literate with good attention to detail
  • Polite, professional, and able to follow instructions
