Responsibilities
- Proactively managing and motivating the team and the shift, engaging colleagues to ensure the best performance
- Manage the team to achieve targeted daily and weekly Key Performance Indicators
- Ensure the department operates in line with all company and customer procedures and requirements relating to Health and Safety
- Ensure processes and procedures are adhered to throughout the operation, with exceptional focus on health and safety
- Encourage a culture of excellent customer service 'right first time' with the team
- Ensure sufficient resource is available to meet performance expectations
- Responsible for driving high levels of employee engagement
- Work closely with the Transport team to ensure that all plans are adhered to
- Ensure that any performance, conduct or capability issues are thoroughly investigated, and any required resulting actions are completed in a timely manner
- An experienced manager/ supervisor with customer service focus within in a high volume, time critical warehouse environment
- Energetic, resilient, and flexible
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan or similar)
- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Works well under tight deadlines with a keen eye for detail and a right first-time approach
- Experience of Kronos time management and Oracle is an advantage
- Experience with warehouse KPI management would be advantageous
- Experience of setting up a brand-new site would be advantageous
- Able to work shift work, including weekend working will be required
