We are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Welding Tutor with an engineering background to join our team in Sheffield and help shape the next of welders.

Position Overview: As a Welding Tutor at Momentum, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality training and support to our learners. You will use your engineering expertise to provide both classroom instruction and hands-on training across a range of welding techniques and processes in our fully equipped welding facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and update training materials, lesson plans, and curriculum to meet industry standards.
  • Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and informative sessions on welding theory, processes, and safety.
  • Practical Training: Provide demonstrations and one-to-one guidance in the welding workshop.
  • Safety: Maintain a safe learning environment by enforcing strict health and safety practices.
  • Assessment: Monitor learner progress through practical assessments, written exams, and project work, offering constructive feedback.
  • Mentorship: Support and mentor learners, building their skills and confidence.
  • Resource Management: Ensure welding equipment and materials are properly maintained.
  • Professional Development: Keep up to date with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to ensure training remains relevant.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Strong practical welding experience across MIG, TIG, and ARC processes, including materials and fabrication techniques.
  • Teaching or training experience desirable but not essential.
  • Recognised welding certifications (e.g., AWS, ASME) advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to health and safety standards.
  • A passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing others.
