Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking experienced Welders to work on submarines at Devonport Dockyard. Candidates should have skills in FCAW, MMA, MIG, and TIG welding, along with the ability to read engineering drawings. Experience in the marine engineering sector is preferred. Successful candidates must be able to achieve SC Clearance.

Overview

We are recruiting Welders to work on the Submarines at Devonport Dockyard.

Responsibilities

• Working on ships, submarines and within a factory environment
• Competent within some or all of the following - FCAW, MMA, MIG, TIG
• Be able to undertake regular welding requalification to meet required standards

Essential experience

• You will need the ability to read engineering drawings, to interpret work instructions and be competent in the use of general workshop tools & machinery specific to welding.
• Ideally you will have worked in the marine engineering industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience from other engineering sectors will be considered.
• Experience of working within marine engineering environment

Qualifications

• Time served apprentice within the field of marine engineering / naval engineering environment
• Indentured Apprenticeship relevant to the role
• Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship
• Level 3 Engineering qualification relevant to the role

Clearance

Must be able to achieive SC Clearance
