About the Company

Our client is a long-established engineering and fabrication business, recognised for delivering high-quality, bespoke stainless-steel solutions across the commercial kitchen, catering, and industrial sectors. With a strong reputation for precision, craftsmanship, and reliability, they are now expanding their workshop team and looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder to join their growing operation.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality stainless-steel and mild-steel components such as sinks, benches, cupboards, pass-through units, and other bespoke fabricated products. You will work from detailed engineering drawings using both manual and CNC fabrication equipment, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and a premium finish. This is a hands-on and varied role, combining workshop fabrication with occasional site-based installation, giving you the satisfaction of seeing each project through from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabrication & Welding Fabricate, assemble, and repair a wide range of sheet metal products. Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard on stainless steel and mild steel. Operate fabrication equipment including guillotines, press brakes, rollers, and grinders.
  • Technical Work Interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings and cutting lists. Mark out, measure, and cut materials to precise dimensions. Select appropriate gauges and sheet types for each project. Drill, punch, and finish components to achieve exact fit and quality.
  • Quality & Safety Check all components for accuracy and finish before assembly. Polish and finish stainless-steel items to a professional standard. Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow all Health & Safety requirements. Adhere to company quality assurance processes and documentation.
  • Site Work Attend client sites for measurements, surveys, and installations. Collaborate with the sales and contracts team to assess site requirements. Carry out installation, modification, or repair work on fabricated items as needed.
About You
  • Proven experience as aaining high quality standards.
  • Sheet Metal Fabricator, Welder, or Metal Worker.
  • Skilled in MIG and TIG welding (stainless and mild steel).
  • Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication tools and CNC machinery.
  • Committed to safe working practices and maint
  • Able to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team.
  • Flexible attitude towards overtime and occasional off-site work.
Desirable
  • Experience within catering or industrial fabrication.
  • Knowledge of stainless‑steel polishing and finishing techniques.
  • Basic fitting or installation experience.
