British Creative Institute is a specialist post-16 SEND college. We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Website Designer to support and grow our web presence, digital marketing, and online systems. This is a strictly on‑site role across our Birmingham and Walsall facilities — no remote, overseas, or off‑site applicants will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain and optimise BCI websites and landing pages
- WordPress development using Elementor Pro and Crocoblock (JetEngine)
- Build and manage eCommerce functionality and integrations
- Maintain and query data using SQL and support PHP‑based development where required
- Ensure strong SEO and SMO practices across pages, content and campaigns
- Set up, manage and report on analytics including Google Analytics
- Support and run paid and organic marketing campaigns, including:
- Microsoft Advertising and other advertising platforms
- Facebook advertising
- WhatsApp advertising
- LinkedIn
- TikTok
- YouTube
- Instagram
- Work alongside staff in a busy college environment, maintaining professionalism, safeguarding awareness and appropriate boundaries
Essential Skills and Experience (Mandatory)
- Web / Development
- WordPress (advanced)
- Elementor Pro (advanced)
- Crocoblock / JetEngine (advanced)
- SQL Database working knowledge
- PHP working knowledge
- eCommerce website development and management
- Strong grasp of SEO and SMO
- Google Analytics
- Microsoft Advertising plus other digital advertising approaches
- Adobe Creative Suite (Mandatory)
- Photoshop
- Premiere Pro (video editing)
- InDesign
- Illustrator
- Additional Adobe CS applications are desirable
- Portfolio Requirement
- You must already have a portfolio of completed work (live websites and/or case studies) to demonstrate your web design and development competence.
- Working in a SEND College Environment (Essential)
- Must be able to work safely and respectfully in a college setting with post‑16 SEND learners
- While not a teaching role, you must be confident working around young people with disabilities and maintaining a calm, professional, inclusive approach
- Compliance and Safer Recruitment (Mandatory)

Salary
- Salary exceeds National Minimum Wage
- Final salary dependent on experience, qualifications, and proficiency, including capability in web and mobile application development
