Our client, a leader in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Weapon System Equipment Project Engineer - Performance Sub-Systems to join their innovative team. If you are a driven and experienced engineer looking to contribute to top-tier Laser Directed Energy Weapon (LDEW) systems, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering the Data-Logging and Monitoring Sub-System (DLM) and Image Processing and Control, Processing Unit Sub-System (IPPU) for integration in other systems
  • Overseeing the acceptance of the physical definition of the hardware
  • Preparing and delivering technical and certification documentation
  • Supporting the functional integration of hardware within the broader sub-system definition
  • Involved in hardware delivery and physical certification aspects of these systems
  • Collaborating closely with the Head of Equipment and Chief Design Engineer's organisation
Job Requirements
  • Experience with weapon systems and sub-systems
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles and project engineering
  • Capability to drive technical direction in the early lifecycle stages of a project
  • Familiarity with working alongside third-party suppliers and developing technical statements of work
  • Ability to develop complex electrical equipment or subsystems ensuring compliance with project requirements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build advantageous relationships
  • Proficient in leading technical work packages and balancing technical risks
  • Knowledge of assembly, integration, test, and certification boundaries is desirable
