A leading environmental services provider in Peterborough is looking for a Water Hygiene Lead Plumber. In this role, you will perform a variety of plumbing tasks related to water hygiene, including chlorination and tank cleaning. The ideal candidate will hold a recognized plumbing qualification and be knowledgeable about Legionella control. WATER HYGIENE LEAD PLUMBER - PETERBOROUGH

Lead Plumber/Water Hygiene Technician, Competitive Salary, Field Based in Peterborough and surrounding Northamptonshire areas

We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and flexible Water Hygiene Lead Plumber to join our Team. As a member of the Water Hygiene Team, it is key that you are able to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as having the capabilities to work independently. Due to the nature of the job, travelling will be part of your day to day role including staying away overnight. Previous knowledge with processes such as dead leg removal, pipework modifications, and TMV installations is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Plumbing remedial work
  • Clean and chlorination of tanks
  • Chlorination of water systems
  • TMV servicing including full servicing and fail-safe testing
  • Calorifier inspections
  • RPZ servicing
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

The successful candidate will be required to hold a recognised NVQ/C&G plumbing qualification and have knowledge of Legionella Control (L8) and HSG274.

They must also be competent in:

  • Communicating verbally and in writing with the client when faults have been identified
  • Producing detailed site observations based on current guidelines, legislation and best practice
  • Working in a safe manner avoiding hazards to themselves, colleagues and clients
  • Carrying out any other duty or work reasonably requested by the employer
  • Working in safety critical client sites
  • Completing service report sheets via a phone application
  • Completing water monitoring log books and visit report sheets
About Water Hygiene

Our Water Hygiene Team is split into two main areas: Water Hygiene and Legionella Risk assessment. Our teams main focus is ensuring water systems are working in line with regulations. We undertake numerous tasks, plumbing remedials, conducting tank cleans and disinfections, water temperature monitoring, shower descaling, water sampling, and TMV (thermostatic mixing valve) servicing. Our Legionella team work hard to ensure the safety of water content. We undertake risk assessments, written scheme audits, and internal quality checks, all to make sure our clients are not using a harmful water supply.
