Qualifications

  • Disinfection of mains water systems and tank cleans.

Job description

Our client, a successful and diverse water treatment/water hygiene company who work across the UK to deliver a broad range of water services, are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced Water Hygiene Engineer based in the Falkirk area. The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a similar water hygiene role delivering legionella compliance tasks to a varied site base in line with the ACOP L8 guidelines. Hands on experience in remedial plumbing will also be a beneficial within this role. The successful candidate most hold a strong work history and be open to travel. Consideration will be given to applications from Linlithgow, Cumbermauld, Airdrie and the surrounding areas.

Experience
  • Will have hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
  • The applicant must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Office Packages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, changing and replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
  • Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring that they comply with the current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
  • Interpreting the results and maintaining and installing dosing systems, etc.
  • Providing accurate reports and maintaining paperwork.
  • Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
  • Carrying out plumbing work as and when required.

Overall the successful applicant will be commercially focused, flexible and reliable and have the ability to work independently and under pressure and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirement.
