Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Waste Operative to take responsibility for the day-to-day efficient movement of waste products out of the factory, ensuring operations run smoothly and service levels are consistently met. In this key role, you will help maintain compliance with agreed business plans while supporting the safe, organised, and environmentally responsible management of waste.

What you'll do:
  1. Ensure efficient waste management and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  2. Monitor, report, and maintain equipment performance.
  3. Conduct regular checks and inspections as required by processes.
  4. Coordinate with internal departments on waste distribution and factory-related activities.
  5. Follow internal operating procedures and foster effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and suppliers.
  6. Engage in training and proactively support the Facilities Management team with a positive, can-do approach.
  7. Maintain a full FLT licence with electric pallet truck qualification.
  8. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in customer-facing environments.
  9. Demonstrate proven people management abilities and effective team leadership.
  10. Be computer literate with a proactive, intuitive, and 'can do' approach.
  11. Maintain high personal integrity and commitment to professional standards.
  12. Be target-driven, adaptable, and an effective team player.
Working hours and pay:
  • 42 hours per week
  • 4 on, 4 off rota — 2 day shifts followed by 2 night shifts, then 4 days off
  • £15.30 per hour
