Overview

Warehouse and Yard Supervisor - Gofer is looking for a Warehouse and Yard Supervisor to join them on a full-time, permanent basis based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the role

As Warehouse and Yard Supervisor, you\'ll support the Head of Projects by overseeing hire prep, equipment delivery, and on-site setup. You\'ll ensure the warehouse runs smoothly, generators are serviced to high standards, and the team works efficiently to uphold excellence in the events industry. Working hours are a minimum of 40 per week, with an on-call rota of at least 53 midweek and 21 weekend days. Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is safely stored, cleaned, and prepared for hire while maintaining high health and safety standards.
• Oversee the servicing and maintenance of generators and equipment, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
• Supervise the warehouse team, fostering a positive, productive work environment.
• Deliver and install temporary electrical distribution on-site, providing technical support as needed.
• Maintain excellent customer relationships, delivering outstanding service and support.

About you

As Warehouse and Yard Supervisor, you will bring knowledge of the events industry and a passion for power generation and mechanics. With experience in servicing generators, plant, or vehicles, you are proactive, detail-focused, and thrive in fast-paced environments. A full driving licence with towing ability is essential, while forklift, ADR, or electrical qualifications are desirable. Skilled in time management, problem-solving, and people leadership, you are reliable, honest, and committed to high standards, ensuring every event runs smoothly.
