Contract: Permanent

Location: Duxford

Shift: 40 hrs, weekly rotations (6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, Monday to Friday)

Huntsman is recruiting a Warehouse Senior Operator to join our Supply Chain team at our chemical manufacturing site in Duxford. Working closely with the Warehouse Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient handling, storage, and movement of chemicals, raw materials, and finished goods. You will act as a role model for safety and operational excellence, supporting the Team Leader by allocating tasks to the warehouse team and helping maintain high standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Warehouse Team Leader in delivering daily operational plans.
  • Allocate work to warehouse operators as directed by the Team Leader.
  • Act as a role model in the Site Behavioural Safety Programme, coaching peers and promoting a zero-harm culture.
  • Perform advanced warehouse tasks, including tanker offloading and handling high-risk materials.
  • Liaise with Team Leaders, Production, and Logistics to meet operational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and EHS standards, reporting and investigating incidents.
  • Coordinate cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and support production needs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Deputise for the Team Leader during absences.
Key Requirements

We are looking for individuals who bring reliability, precision and a proactive, positive attitude to the team. You will have:

  • Strong leadership or mentoring experience, ideally within the chemical sector.
  • Knowledge of SAP and good computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licences or willingness to train (Counterbalance, Reach, VNA).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others positively.
  • Strong team-working skills, adaptability, and attention to detail.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) preferred.
