Location: Manchester, M90 5NA
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour - 1.5X Saturday & 2X Sunday
Shift Times: Monday to Friday 07:00 until 16:00
Shift Pattern: Temp to perm expected after 12 weeks

We are currently seeking dedicated Forklift Counterbalance Truck Operatives for an ongoing position that is likely to go permanent after a successful 12 week probation period.

About the role

You will initially start in our import warehouse, where goods that have entered the country and have already been scanned, will come into the depot where they will need to be offloaded by FLT, checked in, certain pallets will need to be broken down manually and when the time is right rebuilt to be sent out. Once you are comfortable in the role you will be moved into our export warehouse where you will carry out the same processes as import but all goods will go through in-depth security screening before they are loaded onto trucks which will leave for the airport. If you are looking for a long-term career working for a global organisation, where there are plenty of opportunities for personal and professional growth then this may be the role for you. You will not find micromanagement here, you will work as part of a close-knit team, where you are likely to deal with completely different items on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and dismantle pallets manually as needed.
  • Offload and verify all inbound and outbound goods, locating items within the warehouse, or loading them onto outbound delivery vehicles.
  • Sequence goods according to designated routes.
  • Verify all goods against dispatch documentation, ensuring product codes and quantities are accurate.
  • Load and unload freight onto and vehicles, preparing them for delivery.
  • Complete necessary documentation to record the movement of freight, mail, and equipment.
  • Conduct necessary checks on imports and exports to meet company and customer requirements.
  • Record and process cargo information using handheld technology.
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
  • A clear basic DBS check and a full 5-year full work / education reference history.
  • Ideally, 2 years warehouse experience
  • Some form of counterbalance experience and be able to pass an assessment
  • Compliance with CAA regulations is ideal but not a deal breaker here.
  • Physical fitness to handle cartons weighing 22kg and move large quantities.
  • Experience with textiles, pallet handling, and vehicle loading/unloading.
  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.
Additional Information:
  • Overtime opportunities are available, with the potential to work extra hours during weekends.
  • Once permanent there will be further rises to salary dependant on training and knowledge within the roles.
  • Flexibility, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of Health & Safety protocols in the workplace are essential.
