This is a superb opportunity to join our highly established, professional, friendly and very reputable client as they seek to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their team at their site in Uckfield on a permanent and full time basis.

Overview

Warehouse Operative

Full time permanent role - Mon-Fri (Apply online only) - early finish at 1515 on Fridays - 39 hours per week

Role based in Uckfield with parking available on site for all staff. It would be helpful to be a driver with your own transport as Uckfield can be quite hard to get to using public transport (particularly for the above working hours)

Salary GBP25000-GBP27000 per annum. Excellent all round company benefits, including 24 days holiday plus all bank holidays. Plus annual company bonus scheme. Work clothing and safety equipment will be provided.

The role - Warehouse Operative

The Warehouse team is composed of 10 staff members: 7 operatives, 2 supervisors, and 1 manager. Operations are spread across four warehouses two located in the same building with the assembly shop positioned between them, and two others situated within the same business park

Warehouse operatives are expected to be flexible and capable of working across all Uckfield warehouse locations as required.

The role - duties and responsibilities

• Load and unload goods from lorries and containers
• Build and assemble pallets for shipping or storage
• Perform picking and packing of orders accurately, ensuring that all items are correctly selected and prepared for dispatch.
• Engage in heavy lifting and movement of materials throughout the warehouse while adhering to safety protocols.
• Utilise the Warehouse Management System to track inventory levels and manage stock effectively.
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately.
• Handle materials with care to prevent damage during storage and transit.
• Driving of forklift - training provided

Experience, competencies and knowledge required

• Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred
• Proven ability in materials handling, including experience with heavy lifting tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential for managing stock efficiently.
• Forklift license - desirable not essential
