The Volunteering Development Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation of a comprehensive volunteer strategy aligned with library goals and community needs, ensuring consistent best practice, digital transformation of volunteer management systems, and an inclusive, high‑quality experience to grow our network of around 700 volunteers. They will lead on the design and delivery of the volunteer journey, including recruitment, training, induction, performance, and support of volunteers, coaching and advising Supervisors to ensure consistency.
Libraries Unlimited is a charity running the 54 libraries across Devon and Torbay. We have around 700 volunteers (¼ under 18) and over 300 staff working across multiple locations. As Council England (ACE) National Portfolio Organisation (NPO), we are expanding our services to include high‑quality arts and cultural events and activities for our users.

Our volunteers are key in supporting staff to ensure that our libraries continue to have maximum impact, and this role will play a leading role in building on our existing networks and processes to deliver our volunteering offer.
