Job summary

A leading end-of-life charity in Plymouth is seeking compassionate volunteers to join their Hospital Companion service. In this role, you will provide emotional support and companionship to patients with terminal diagnoses, committing 3 hours per week. Participants will receive full training, wellbeing support, and the chance to make a meaningful difference. Ideal candidates should be respectful, empathetic, and able to use basic IT tools. This is a unique opportunity to help those in need while gaining valuable experience.

Join our Hospital Companion service at Mount Gould Hospital or Derriford Hospital, where you can make a meaningful difference to people with a terminal diagnosis.

As a volunteer, you'll offer emotional support, companionship, and a calming presence to people who need it most. Each week, you'll spend time with someone - listening, chatting, and simply being there when they need a friendly face.

Availability: 3 hours per week - flexible to suit your schedule

What you'll do:

  • Complete a basic report after each visit
