A leading educational institution in Oxford seeks a Visitor Experience Assistant to engage with museum visitors and enhance their experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about customer service and comfortable working in a busy, varied setting. This variable hours, permanent position offers excellent benefits, including a contributory pension scheme and 38 days of annual leave.
You will be interacting with visitors within the museum’s galleries, with varied working patterns and positions across multiple locations. Some lone working and manual handling is also involved. A key aspect of this role is using product knowledge to inspire our customers and maximise sale opportunities and encouraging visitor giving (donations).
This is a variable hours, permanent post. Most GLAM sites are open 7 days a week, so availability at weekends and during busier periods is especially appreciated.
Passionate about delivering great customer service, you will be a confident team player who enjoys helping and interacting with people and feels satisfied when a customer leaves happy. You will be alert and mindful of the irreplaceable value of our collection and you will work to ensure no items or people come to harm. Interest in working in a visitor-focused heritage environment, as well as working knowledge of another language, is desirable.
