Job description
Vice President Data Centre Operations

United Kingdom based with European remit

We are the embedded talent partner for a leading AI hyperscaler making significant long term investments in AI optimised infrastructure across Europe. Our client operates one of the largest high density GPU cloud platforms in the market, powering advanced AI training, inference and high performance workloads for enterprise and next generation AI companies.

As part of their next phase of growth in the region, they are hiring a Vice President of Data Centre Operations to lead operations across their European data centre platform and set the standard for AI ready infrastructure at scale.

This is a role for someone who thrives in high scale, high transformation environments where operational excellence directly impacts the performance of some of the world’s most demanding compute workloads.

What you will do
  • Own operational strategy, performance and uptime across a rapidly expanding European data centre estate
  • Lead the operational vision for highly dense, GPU optimised environments with extreme power, cooling and reliability demands
  • Build and scale a multi region operations organisation capable of supporting massive growth and continuous deployment
  • Drive operational maturity through automation, tooling, advanced monitoring and data driven decision making
  • Oversee incident response, risk governance, engineering standards and lifecycle maintenance across all sites
  • Partner with engineering, construction, product and executive teams to align operations with long term AI infrastructure strategy
  • Develop consistent, enterprise grade playbooks and frameworks that enable speed without sacrificing safety or resilience
  • Ensure all sites are prepared for rapid capacity increases, new technology rollouts and complex multi workload utilisation
What you bring
  • Senior level leadership experience running large scale data centre operations in hyperscale, AI, cloud or GPU focused environments
  • Proven ability to manage multi site or multi country operations with aggressive uptime and performance requirements
  • Deep understanding of high density GPU infrastructure, advanced cooling strategies, critical power architecture and complex scaling challenges
  • Track record of building and maturing operations teams in fast growth settings with high output expectations
  • Strong operational thinking with the ability to introduce structure, process and clarity while still enabling speed
  • Comfortable influencing senior leaders and partnering across engineering, product, capacity, construction and finance
  • Ability to operate in a high intensity, engineering driven environment where expectations are high and impact is immediate
Why this role

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of operations for one of the most advanced AI infrastructure platforms in Europe. You will shape how their data centres run, scale and evolve as they continue to deploy new sites, new technologies and some of the most compute heavy workloads in the industry.
