Overview

Here at Lockwood Vets, we’re looking for a veterinary surgeon to work at our Rosewood practice near Wolverhampton. You will be a proactive individual who is able and willing to contribute your ideas and skills across the practice to build on the fantastic team and offering we have here. You will have a mix of consults and surgery, so you have the best of both worlds. We strongly encourage career development so if you wish to pursue a specialism or certificate, we would be delighted to discuss this with you. There will be some sole charge work, so you will need to be confident with excellent general surgical and medical skills. Just a few miles away you will find another of our branches with its experienced, friendly team who are always on hand to provide additional support. You’ll also be required to cover at our supporting branches. We can offer a welcome bonus of up to £5000 (pro rata).

Fix or flex - find your perfect balance

We know that everyone has demands and priorities outside of their career and we want to make it brilliantly easy for you to strike the right balance. Whether you are looking to fix or flex your work patterns, we can find the right solution for you. Typically, the full-time position would involve working 40 hours per week over 4 days, along with an amazing 1:8 Saturdays (09:00 - 17:00). There’s no out of hours or on call required for this role.

About us

This purpose-built practice provides a spacious, light and airy perfect working environment with a surgical theatre, a prep room, and all the usual gadgets including digital Xray, ultrasound, endoscope and in house lab. We are in the process of installing a dental xray in addition. Our clinical team is composed of 12 vets with certificate holders in areas like exotics, internal medicine and surgery. We also have vets doing certificates in dermatology, imaging and surgery. We’re supported by our highly skilled, long standing nurse team. We have a loyal client base, and the practice is highly trusted within the local community for providing exceptional veterinary care. Maintaining a good working environment and job satisfaction for all staff is of high importance to us which is proven in our low staff turnover and longevity in service.
