Veterinary Surgeon – First Opinion / Referral (or Both!)

Shrewsbury | RCVS Accredited 24‑Hour Small Animal Hospital

  • Flexible clinical focus – role can be tailored to first opinion work, referral work, or a combination of both, including consulting‑only or referral‑only options
  • Exceptional facilities and caseload – an RCVS accredited 24‑hour hospital with advanced imaging, endoscopy, in‑house laboratory diagnostics, and a varied first opinion and referral caseload
  • Strong team support – work alongside an experienced veterinary team and highly skilled nurses, many holding or undertaking advanced clinical certificates
  • Excellent work‑life balance – 40 hours over 4 days, a 1 in 6 weekend rota, and minimal Bank Holiday commitments

The Role

This is a full‑time position, working 40 hours per week over four days, with a 1 in 6 weekend rota. Bank Holiday cover is shared across the wider regional and hospital teams and typically equates to one shift or fewer per year – supporting a strong work‑life balance.
