Job summary

A leading utility provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their Transport Team. In this role, you will be responsible for routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including HGVs, and managing parts stock. The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and possesses a full UK driving licence. Responsibilities
  • Routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including HGVs.
  • Diagnosing faults and road testing.
  • Maintaining plant trailers and ancillary equipment.
  • Coordinating with suppliers for repairs and servicing.
  • Preparing vehicles for annual testing.
  • Ordering parts and managing stock.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • Strong mechanical skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • A team player with great communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
  • LGV (Class C) licence is a bonus – but we can provide training.
  • Subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, DBS check and, where required, a triannual check.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary – between £22.60 and £25.14 per hour.
