Qualifications

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Carrying out Service, Maintenance and Repair of a mixed fleet of vehicles;
  • Carry out diagnosis, repairs and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification;
  • Repairing Vehicle in line with manufacturers' standards;
  • Dealing with customers;
  • To be conversant with all manufacturer's technical literature and information bulletins;
  • To notify Service Manager of damage or breakdown of workshop equipment or tooling;
  • Vehicle Inspections and Correction of running defects;
  • General Servicing and Diagnosing of vehicle faults;
  • As Vehicle Technician you will be responsible for carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance to vehicles;
  • Preparation for retail sales;
  • Undertake vehicle road testing for diagnosis and to test repairs;
  • Examining vehicles and reporting defects against Vehicle Inspectorate standards;
  • Using the latest diagnostic equipment;
  • Working within the company health & safety guidelines;
  • Air-con repair/service.
Requirements
  • Have genuine commitment to delivering first class customer service;
  • Own tools;
  • Have completed a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Repair or equivalent NVQ, BTEC or City & Guilds qualifications;
  • Full UK Driving license.
  • Ideally you will have experience of;
  • 5 years (minimum) experience as a Vehicle Technician;
  • Good standard of English and Maths: GCSE Level C or above, or Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 on the NFQ or equivalent;
  • Time served recognised apprenticeship and recognised qualification;
  • Main Dealership or Independent experience preferred;
  • Electrical knowledge is an advantage;
  • Possess good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and customers accurately and concisely;
  • Mot License Class 4 preferred;
  • Level 2 qualified;
  • Honest with high levels of integrity;
  • Thorough and able to work with defined processes and guidelines;
  • Good technical knowledge
