A community legal advocacy group in London is seeking a Strategic Litigation Development Officer for an 8-month project. The role involves conducting action research to uncover systemic failings in the delivery of Leaving Care Act duties to young refugees and asylum seekers aged 18–21. Tower Hamlets Law Centre (THLC), an organisation providing free advice and representation to people who face barriers in getting access to legal services, is recruiting a Strategic Litigation Development Officer. This is a fixed-term project of 8 months duration (28 hours a week) which will explore good and bad practice in care and identify local authorities in London where there is evidence of systemic failings in the provision of Leaving Care Act duties to young refugees and asylum seekers between 18 and 21 years old. The Development Officer will conduct action research to support preparation of cases for strategic litigation.

The post holder will be based at Tower Hamlets Law Centre and will also work with Brighter Futures, a young refugee and asylum seekers self advocacy group based at Praxis in Bethnal Green.
