Full-Time
The digitisation team converts analogue collections to enable access (e.g., through collections search) and digital preservation. The team includes technicians, contract or fee-paid staff, volunteers, and contracted third-party suppliers. The team delivers content to internal customers, connecting collections with audiences.
The digitisation efforts are grouped by purpose (access or preservation) and collection type (still or time-based media).
Our access team handles on-demand requests for public, learning, and commercial use. The preservation team digitises vulnerable assets, especially those that may deteriorate in the future, under the Digital Futures project.
As a Digitisation Technician for time-based media, you will work with film, video, and sound formats and materials. Since these are highly vulnerable assets, work will be conducted in a laboratory environment with strict health and safety considerations.
