An excellent opportunity for a skilled Utility Surveyor / Consultant to carry out tree surveys and inspections around utility assets, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality.

Job Overview

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Utility Surveyor / Consultant. This is a key role where you will undertake inspections, identify risks, and ensure tree-related works meet utility safety standards.

As the Utility Surveyor / Consultant, you will maintain accurate site documentation, liaise with stakeholders, and provide expert advice to arboricultural teams. Working closely with clients, property owners, and internal teams, you will ensure permissions are secured, safety procedures followed and works completed to the highest standard.

Responsibilities
  • Tree Surveys and Inspections: Carrying out comprehensive surveys around utility assets to assess condition, hazards, and risks
  • Risk Identification: Highlighting potential issues and recommending safe, compliant solutions
  • Accurate Reporting: Recording and reporting findings with up-to-date site documentation
  • Permission Management: Ensuring relevant permissions are secured before works commence
  • Safety Compliance: Promoting health and safety culture, ensuring works align with regulations
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Communicating effectively with clients, landowners, and internal teams
  • Team Support: Providing advice to arboricultural teams on tree cutting and safe working methods
  • Customer Interaction: Handling queries courteously and escalating issues where needed
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Proven experience of conducting surveys within the utility or arboricultural sector
  • Valid UA5 Utility Surveying ticket
  • Knowledge of tree risk assessment and vegetation management practices
  • Strong understanding of health and safety compliance
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A background in record keeping and accurate site documentation
Desirable
  • Experience liaising with landowners and securing permissions
  • Familiarity with utility sector regulations and requirements
