Unqualified Teaching Assistant

Agency Temp to Perm
Location: Preston
Start: Immediate

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join a supportive specialist education setting in Preston. This is an agency-based position with a strong potential to move into a permanent role for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will work alongside teaching staff to support pupils with additional needs, helping them to engage in learning, build confidence and develop key skills. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, assist with classroom routines and contribute to creating a calm, structured environment where every pupil can thrive.

Key responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning and behavioural needs
  • Assisting with lesson preparation and resource adaptation
  • Providing targeted one-to-one and group support
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
  • Following individual support plans and school policies
  • Helping maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people (school, care or community settings)
  • A patient, confident and compassionate approach
  • Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively
  • Reliability, adaptability and willingness to learn
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
