Key Difference from Qualified Teachers (QTS)
  • State Schools: Generally, require QTS for permanent classroom teaching.

Pathways to QTS for Unqualified Teachers
  • Assessment Only Route (AO): For experienced unqualified teachers to gain QTS without further training programs.
  • Employment-Based Training: Working while training (e.g., School Direct).

In Summary: Unqualified teachers are vital personnel in education, filling critical roles, but their ability to teach in state schools is restricted compared to those with QTS, though avenues to achieve this status exist. Do get in touch with Aspire People for more information.
