Join Our Unified Desktop Team – Make a Meaningful Impact Across Our Hospitals

About the Role

We are seeking proactive and technically skilled individuals to join our Unified Desktop Team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting critical front‑line services by maintaining and upgrading the essential IT equipment used every day by both clinical and non‑clinical staff.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the End User Equipment Lead, handling technical operations, HR tasks, and collaborating with Digital Services support teams.
  • Provision, replace, and support a wide range of end‑user equipment (iPods, iPads, desktops, laptops, monitors, TVs, AV equipment, Unified Communications handsets and peripherals), ensuring all activity is scheduled conveniently and completed to a high technical standard.
  • Work across all three main hospital sites, carrying out activities in a cross‑site role.
  • Fully understand and advocate ITIL principles such as Change, Incident, Demand, Problem, Service Catalogue, and SLA Management in line with local policies and procedures.
  • Use reporting tools such as SCCM and SQL for system monitoring, issue tracking, and Windows operating system readiness and upgrade planning.
  • Support the Trust’s end‑user equipment, responding promptly to clinician‑owned devices in accordance with agreed SLAs.
  • Investigate, test and resolve issues related to applications, hardware and operating systems, identifying the impact of service issues on Trust operations and escalating appropriately.
  • Participate in all aspects of Windows operating system readiness and upgrades, from data reporting and liaising with external suppliers to hardware installation and system testing.
  • Develop end‑user and support documentation, including standard operating procedures where none exist, and contribute to the design and implementation of new processes.
