Responsibilities
  • As a Software Engineering Undergraduate you will create cutting edge software for our hardware and be involved in the entire lifecycle of a product, from design and development to integration.
  • Producing and maintaining a software design to meet a set of software requirements.
  • Using a software design to produce a deliverable software solution.
  • Testing a software solution to prove that it meets its design aims and requirements.
  • Support a software solution to address reported defects and/or add new functionality.
  • Developing and maintaining a good working knowledge of Maritime Services software processes.

  • As a minimum requirement you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software or Computer related STEM degree.
Security and eligibility

As many roles at BAE Systems are subject to security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants must at a minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
