Qualifications

  • IOSH certification is beneficial but not required.
  • Transport Manager CPC is beneficial but not required.
  • Class 2 Licence is desirable.

Job description

Job Title: Transport Supervisor

Location: Eaglescliffe, TS16 0RG

Job Length: Permanent

Working Hours: 45 hours per week, working on a 2 shift rotating pattern. Either 5am to 2pm or 8am to 5pm, predominantly on a Monday to Friday basis. However, flexibility to cover any 5 days in a 7 day period and to work outside of these hours to suit business needs.

About the role

This role sits at the heart of our depot operation, keeping vehicles, drivers, and deliveries running safely and efficiently every day. You’ll lead from the front to ensure routes go out on time, support real-time issue resolution, and uphold the highest standards of compliance and customer service across the transport team.

We are now recruiting for a Transport Supervisor. Reporting to the Transport Manager this role will play a key part of our success journey, and you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following:

Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for compliance of all vehicles and drivers.
  • Providing skills required to deliver to customers on time and in full.
  • Providing high quality services to suit customer needs.
  • Providing support for distribution teams to ensure smooth running of operations.
  • Making sure all site objectives are met whilst not compromising on health and safety.
  • Holding health and safety at the forefront of all processes.
  • Either seeing the vehicles and crew out in the morning or overseeing the return of all vehicles and crews, depending on hours worked.
  • To be the point of contact for all real time delivery issues for the crews and to communicate with customer services.
Experience and Key Attributes
  • Knowledge and experience working within transport compliance.
  • Experience supervising or leading both people and processes within a transport or logistics network.
  • IT literate, with experience using MS Office and SAP.
  • Experience using Microlise Systems.
  • IOSH certification beneficial however not required.
  • Transport Manager CPC beneficial however not required.
  • Class 2 Licence desirable.
  • Customer Service.
  • Manual Handling.
