A leading logistics company in the UK is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to coordinate daily transport operations. This is a full-time permanent position with a starting salary of £32,500 per year.

Transport Planner About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Planner to take the lead in coordinating and optimising daily transport operations. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll ensure goods move efficiently, schedules run smoothly, and customers receive outstanding service.

What You’ll Do
  • Organise and oversee day‑to‑day transport activities to guarantee timely deliveries.
  • Use transport planning tools and dispatch systems to create efficient routes and allocate resources.
  • Act as the key point of contact for customers, ensuring service standards are consistently exceeded.
  • Work closely with drivers, suppliers, and depots to maintain seamless communication across the network.
  • Keep accurate records and manage essential administrative tasks within the transport office.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pallet utilisation and reduce operational costs.
  • Monitor performance metrics and resolve issues quickly to maintain high service levels.
  • Approach challenges with a proactive mindset and deliver practical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in a Transport Planner role.
  • Strong understanding of transport management systems and route planning software.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented with a problem‑solving approach.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Hours : Monday to Friday, 7:00‑17:00 or 8:00‑18:00

Salary : Starting from £32,500 per year (dependent on experience)

Contract : Full‑time, Permanent
