Job description
Overview

As a Manager in the Transaction Support team in Corporate Finance you will join a growing advisory team and further develop your experience advising on both buy-side and sell-side UK and international mergers and acquisitions, providing due diligence and deal advice to strategic buyers, financial investors, banks and other funders. You will work in a Partner-led advisory team where you will manage all aspects of a due diligence exercise, deliver exceptional service, and contribute to business development and origination activities. You will be responsible for the appraisal and development of junior team members. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical and delivery skills, build a network with Partners, and contribute to the growth of the team in the Thames Valley mid-market. There will be direct support from Partners in the execution of responsibilities, with the chance to influence ongoing growth and the team’s ambition to be the go-to deal support team in the Thames Valley region for mid-market deals. Crowe in Reading has experienced unprecedented growth and fosters an energetic, achievement-focused environment that promotes work/life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Attend and/or lead initial scoping meetings with clients to identify the key questions the due diligence needs to answer.
  • Prepare formal proposals for new work opportunities and potential client introductory meetings.
  • Prepare and deliver market-leading client-ready due diligence reports that are robust, relevant and insightful, including well-structured "Key Messages" and overall report quality.
  • Coordinate and manage input from other service lines (e.g., Tax) in respect of their contribution to a due diligence report.
  • Develop and appraise junior members of the team.
  • Be active and visible in the Thames Valley deals market and stay informed about developments in the local Corporate Finance market.
  • Take on more direct business development activities to contribute towards winning new work and growing incremental fee income.
  • Work experience ideally in transaction services or the broader corporate finance service lines for at least 2 years.
  • Be fully qualified (preferably ACA equivalent; other equivalents will be considered for the right candidate).
  • Demonstrate high performance relative to peers in the current role.
  • Be self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership over tasks and outputs.
  • Show genuine excitement about joining a fast-growing team and align with the firm’s strategic goals.
  • Be comfortable and capable of managing more junior staff and contributing to day-to-day team management.
  • Initially the role focuses on delivery, with progression towards networking and direct business development activities.
