Job Description

Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer required to join a global leading engineering manufacturer.

The successful Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer will be responsible for the mechanical fitting service maintenance installation and commissioning of bespoke mechanical systems predominantly containment systems for biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, medical device and aerospace markets. This is a workshop based role in Stockport with worldwide travel and staying away when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid). Full product training provided.

The Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer will ideally have a mechanical or electro‑mechanical background, a willingness to learn advanced engineering systems, a dependable team‑first attitude and the flexibility to travel while supporting a wide range of hands‑on engineering activities.

Trainee Service Engineer / Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer Role

• Assist with the service maintenance and repair of containment isolators and associated mechanical systems.
• Support installation, assembly and commissioning activities at customer sites once fully trained.
• Conduct basic fault finding across mechanical, pneumatic and electrical components.
• Carry out mechanical assembly, airflow testing (FAT/SAT) and commissioning once trained.
• Liaise with various engineering departments.
• Workshop based in Stockport with worldwide travel and staying away when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid).

• Mechanical or electro‑mechanical background
• Willingness to learn complex containment systems and follow structured training
• Mechanical or electrical qualification; degree, apprenticeship, or similar is advantageous

• Flexible for worldwide travel and staying away when required (overtime and staying away allowances paid)
