We are looking to recruit into an 8 PA job plan, providing a designed job plan Monday - Friday and supporting with the on-call rota within PA's Monday - Sunday. The ophthalmology service is supported by an excellent team consisting of Nurses, Orthoptists, Optometrists and Specialist Imaging Staff. The principal role of the post-holder is to be an active member of the team. We encourage the personal development of our Trainee Doctors. The post-holder is key to the team and is expected to take a teamwork approach to relationships with other departments, clinic and theatre staff. The post-holder is invited to contribute to academic, audit and clinical governance issues within the department and the Trust.
We are looking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Specialty Trainee to join our existing team of 9 consultants and 5 SAS Doctors who offer both general and specialist Ophthalmic services such as glaucoma, retinal and eye casualty. We are looking for those who are interested in working in the Cornea service.

Trust policy requires that the cost of submitting & processing a DBS application is met by the successful applicant(s). DBS costs are recovered via salary deduction following starting in post. If the post you are applying for requires a DBS, the cost for successful applications would be met by the individual themselves. The amount would vary depending on the level required: Standard Disclosure £21.50+£6.50 or Enhanced Disclosure £49.50+£6.50. This will be deducted from your salary, in manageable monthly installments for up to 3 months following commencement of employment.
