We're working with a well-established and fast-growing engineering supplies business that's looking to appoint an experienced Trade Account Manager to join their team in Durham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused professional to take ownership of trade accounts, build long-term relationships, and play a key role in the company's continued success.

Role

As Trade Account Manager, you'll be the main point of contact for trade customers across multiple sectors, providing first-class service and ensuring all enquiries and orders are handled efficiently.

  • Managing and developing relationships with trade clients.
  • Handling enquiries, preparing quotations, and processing orders accurately.
  • Sourcing a wide range of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) products from trusted suppliers.
  • Managing purchase orders and expediting where necessary to meet agreed lead times.
  • Resolving customer and supplier queries professionally and promptly.
  • Conducting site visits to key accounts to check stock levels, liaise with buyers, and identify new opportunities.

This is a varied and hands-on position that would suit someone who thrives in a busy, customer-driven environment.

The Person
  • Experience in trade account management, technical sales, or customer service.
  • Experience preparing technical quotations is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and adaptable under pressure.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Based in or within a commutable distance of Durham (DH1).
