Toolmaker

Salary: Up to £50,000 (DOE) Location: On-site | Monday-Friday Hours: Flexible working available

We are currently recruiting an experienced Toolmaker to join our established Toolroom within a plastic injection moulding environment. This vacancy has arisen due to a leaver, and we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and work closely with our production team to ensure tooling is maintained to the highest standard.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Toolroom Manager, you will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, and continuous improvement of injection moulding tools used in production.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Partnering with the production team to maintain and support tooling
  • Manufacturing new injection moulding tools from technical drawings and 3D CAD data
  • Repairing, modifying, and maintaining existing tooling
  • Carrying out and documenting regular tool maintenance
  • Working within a continuous improvement / 5S environment (right-first-time approach)
  • Ensuring correct marking and labelling of all tools
  • Working with fully hardened steel production tools
  • Supporting hot runner systems, valve gates, and manifolds
About You

You will be an experienced, apprentice-trained Toolmaker. Press tool makers will also be considered due to transferable skills.

Essential skills and experience:
  • Apprentice-trained Toolmaker (or equivalent experience)
  • CNC machining experience
  • CAD/CAM experience
  • Background in plastic injection moulding
  • Experience with fully hardened steel tools
  • Knowledge of hot runner systems, valve gates, and manifolds
Package & Benefits
  • Salary up to £50,000 (dependent on experience)

Working hours:
  • Monday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • Tuesday‑Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
  • Flexible working options available (early starts / late finishes)
