Job description

We are seeking an experienced TIG Welder to join our client's engineering and fabrication team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in stainless steel fabrication, pipework, and sheet metal work, with proven experience manufacturing and assembling pressure vessels, process vessels, and associated components to high‑quality standards. Competitive hourly rate available and excellent working hours.

Hours

37 hours/ week - Days Mon – Thursday (3 Day weekend every week or option to work overtime on Friday at time and half)

TIG welder Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, assemble, and weld stainless steel components, vessels, and structures from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out TIG welding to a high standard, particularly on stainless steel and carbon steel materials.
  • Manufacture and fit pipework systems, including orbital and manual welding of various diameters and thicknesses.
  • Interpret and work from detailed fabrication drawings, isometric sketches, and technical documentation.
  • Operate standard fabrication equipment, including guillotines, rollers, press brakes, and cutting machinery.
  • Perform quality inspections on completed work, ensuring dimensional accuracy and weld integrity.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Fabrication and welding within an industrial or engineering environment.
  • Proven experience working with stainless steel, sheet metal, and pipework.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding techniques
  • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and tolerances.
  • Experience in using fabrication tools and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
