Job description
Overview

Starting in December 2025, a welcoming and professional family based in Padbury, Buckinghamshire is looking for a kind, reliable, and organised nanny to care for their three cheerful and energetic boys (aged 7, 4, and 1). This is a Tuesday to Thursday role (36 hours total, 07:30‑19:30) with a sole‑charge schedule, offering consistency and a good work‑life balance. Mum and Dad work a hybrid setup and Dad is away on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so those days need the most hands‑on support.

The eldest boy, aged 7, will be homeschooled with a tutor and benefits from gentle structure and extra patience; previous SEN experience is welcomed but not essential. The middle and youngest boys attend school/childminder during the day and the nanny will be responsible for their care after school and in the evenings.

Responsibilities
  • Creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for the children
  • Supporting the eldest during homeschooling, coordinating with the tutor and helping with activities
  • School/nursery drop‑offs and pick‑ups (own car required – duty mileage paid)
  • Planning and running fun and enriching indoor/outdoor activities (Lego, jigsaws, games, nature walks, crafts)
  • Organising outings to groups and classes with the eldest child during the day
  • Preparing healthy, home‑cooked meals for the children
  • Assisting with children’s laundry and keeping shared areas tidy
  • Providing light household support, such as emptying the dishwasher and occasional errands (the family employs a weekly cleaner)
  • Supporting homework, dinner, and bath time routines
  • Coordinating handovers with other childminders/after‑school care providers
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum two years’ relevant experience
  • Level 3 Childcare qualification preferred; experience essential
  • 12‑hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate and a clear Enhanced DBS (Update Service)
  • Own fully insured car (duty mileage will be paid)
  • Must be available 07:30‑19:30, Tuesday‑Thursday (36 hours per week)
  • Pet‑free household (no pets)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Salary: £33,696 gross per annum plus mutually agreed overtime at £18 gross per hour
  • Permanent role
  • Must have at least two professional referees, one being a current or previous employer; referees must be immediately contactable
  • Appropriate personal insurance is recommended
